Because I haven't solid evidences and not enough records for machines with low serial numbers I have only to assume that at Jones in 1879, was decided to renumbering the new and let's say, final model, that will last until 1895 about, with only cosmetic improvements. With a alleged average production of 8.000 units annually, starting from 1879 and ending in 1895 circa, we can date our machines with more or less of 1-2 years error. Nevertheless for sewing machines with the Trade Mark "As supplied to H.R.H. the Princess of Wales" the manufacturing was from March 1890 onwards
The "JONES HAND MACHINE" decal on the Machine Bed will last until 1890.
The word "LIMITED" engraved inside the company trade mark stamp on the Cloth Plate only on earliest machines.
"The Vine Leaf" decal on the Arm of the Machine until 1884 (type 7).

The following two machines are a bit intrigue. For the machine with serial number # 24.128 due the poor quality of the picture, it is impossible say if the trademark is positioned on the slide plate to access the shuttle or on the Cloth-plate. For the machine with serial number # 25.194 the trademark (without the word "LIMITED" on it) is on the Cloth-plate.

Although some eminent sources asserting the production of JONES HAND machines ended in 1909, there isn't any evidence of machines with the Queen Alexandra " Special Appointment " and also not enough serial numbers to justify a production until that date.
