Frister & Rossmann began manufacturing typewriters in 1892. With the license of the North American company American Writing Machine Company, F & R has manufactured a replica of the Caligraph 3. F & R made 4 different models, were machines blind writing, dual keyboard and struck portatipus carriage bottom up printing type known as upstrike.
In 1910 the production of this model ended as F & R opted for a portable machine that adapts to the changing needs of typists: The Senta.
