Thaler (Thlr.)
A thaler is one of the large silver coins minted in the states and territories of the Holy Roman Empire and the Habsburg monarchy during the Early Modern period. The word is shortened from Joachimsthaler, the original thaler coin minted in Joachimstal, Bohemia, from 1518. After the collapse of the Holy Roman Empire, the German Reichstaler survived in the form of the Prussian thaler (later Vereinsthaler) until 1871.

The porcelain knob was introduced by the company in 1887 about
The porcelain knob was introduced by the company on sewing machines between the end of production of the "FB" model and the new "TS48" model (1887). It was around the time that S. LOEWE became the company's new sole agent.

type 3
Type 3 has a new Cloth Plate, Frister & Rossmann logo on the base and maybe more variations. This type is easy to date just because the wood base and the cover was used by the company from 1899-1900 circa. So the wood base and the cover may have been inspirated by the existing models or viceversa.
